Alhaji and Mrs Ismaila Ugwu PGD Scholarship Award ( AUPSA)
Scholarship Application
Ihe Development Initiative (IDI) is pleased to invite applications for the 2021 Alhaji & Mrs Ismaila Ugwu PGD Scholarship. Sponsored by Alhaji Ismaila Ugwu Family, this scholarship aims to bridge the gap between HND and master’s degree for Ihe graduates. Number of awardees: 2 Value: N250,000 (two hundred & fifty thousand naira) per awardee Deadline: 31 August 2022

Applicants MUST:
1. be an indigene of Ihe;
2. be resident in Nigeria;
3. be less than 45 years old;
4. hold a HND (not below Upper Credit);
5. be mentally sound;
6. have no any criminal record;
7. have evident capacity to withstand the research demands of postgraduate study;
8. not be pursuing a master’s degree already;
9. attach their O’Level and bachelor’s degree certificates (or the statement of result of the degree certificate).
Application for Master’s Degree Scholarship
Registered in June 2017, IHE DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVE (IDI) is an association of Ihe indigenes who want to contribute to the human capital development of their community. Believing that education is an investment in human capital, IDI offers cash and non-cash awards to pupils and students of Ihe schools as well as scholarships to graduates. Currently, IDI projects (master’s scholarships, cash and non-cash awards to primary and secondary schools, etc.) are funded with dues and donations by members. (Support by non-members, in the form of advocacy, sponsorship of IDI projects, cash donations, etc. is encouraged and welcome, anyway). This public notice invites applications from Ihe indigenes who want to pursue a master’s degree in any public university in Nigeria. Successful applicants will receive a one-off grant of N500,000 (Five hundred thousand naira).
Applicants MUST:
1. be an indigene of Ihe;
2. be resident in Nigeria;
3. be less than 45 years old;
4. hold a PGD or a bachelor’s degree (not below second class );
5. be mentally sound;
6. have no any criminal record;
7. have evident capacity to withstand the research demands of postgraduate study;
8. not be pursuing a master’s degree already;
9. attach their O’Level and bachelor’s degree certificates (or the statement of result of the degree certificate).
Application for a PhD Scholarship
Chief (Dr) Godwin Chinedu Okolo is a philanthropist from Ihe in Awgu Local Government Area of Enugu State who wants to contribute to the human capital development of Ihe community. Believing that education is an investment in human capital, Chief (Dr) Okolo partners with Ihe Development Initiative (IDI) and offers a cash award for students of Ihe who want to do a PhD in any public university in Nigeria. This public notice to invites applications from qualified Ihe indigenes for the scholarship.
Successful applicants will receive a one-off grant of N1,000,000 (one million naira).
Applicant must:
1. be an indigene of Ihe;
2. be resident in Nigeria;
3. be less than 45 years old;
4. hold a MSc degree;
5. be mentally sound;
6. have no any criminal record;
7. have evident capacity to withstand the research demands of the study;
8. not be pursuing a PhD already;

Application for Sylvester Ekoh Ogboh’s Memorial Award for Academic Excellence, Funded by Dr Ethelbert Madueke Ekoh.

Believing that education is an investment in human capital, IDI offers cash and non-cash awards to pupils and students of Ihe schools as well as scholarships to graduates. Currently, IDI projects (master’s scholarships, cash and non-cash awards to primary and secondary schools, etc.) are funded with dues and donations by members. (Support by non-members, in the form of advocacy, sponsorship of IDI projects, cash donations, etc. is encouraged and welcome, anyway). This public notice invites applications from Ihe indigenes towards an annual award which will be given to an indigene who has gained admission to university for Medicine & Surgery, Dentistry or Nursing Science. The beneficiary will receive a cash award of One hundred thousand naira (N100,000).

4. hold a University Admission Letter
5. be mentally sound;
6. have no any criminal record;
Application for Ma Cecilia Ozoemena Eneonwo Memorial Award for Academic Excellence, Funded by Air Cdre EJ Ozoemena (Rtd)
Registered in June 2017, IHE DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVE (IDI) is an association of Ihe indigenes who want to contribute to the human capital development of their community. Believing that education is an investment in human capital, IDI offers cash and non-cash awards to pupils and students of Ihe schools as well as scholarships to graduates. Currently, IDI projects (master’s scholarships, cash and non-cash awards to primary and secondary schools, etc.) are funded with dues and donations by members. (Support by non-members, in the form of advocacy, sponsorship of IDI projects, cash donations, etc. is encouraged and welcome, anyway). This public notice invites applications from Ihe indigenes towards an annual award which will be given to an indigene who scored the highest mark in UTME and has gained admission to university. The beneficiary will receive a cash award of One hundred thousand naira (N100,000).

4. hold a University Admission Letter
5. be mentally sound;
6. have no any criminal record;
9. attach their SSCE and University Admission Letter (or the statement of result).
Science Quiz
The 2021 Denchukwu Science Quiz for students of senior secondary schools from Ihe (It is for indigenes of Ihe only) has been scheduled for 27 December 2022
Venue: Central School, Ihe
Time: 9AM
Participants are expected to be punctual and
bring along a passport photo, a calculator and a pencil.
