Registered in June 2017, IHE DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVE (IDI) is an association of Ihe indigenes committed to investing in the human capital development of their community. Guided by the belief that education is the greatest investment in the future, IDI supports pupils, students, and graduates of Ihe schools through scholarships, cash prizes, and non-cash awards.
Currently, IDI projects—including scholarships for master’s students, awards to pupils in primary and secondary schools, and other community-focused initiatives—are funded by the dues and donations of members. Support from non-members, in the form of advocacy, sponsorship, or cash donations, is also encouraged and welcome.
In this spirit, IDI is pleased to announce the Pa Peter & Ma Mathilda Aganigbo Award for Academic Excellence, a family-sponsored initiative that celebrates the legacy of Pa Peter and Ma Mathilda Aganigbo.
This annual award is dedicated to supporting an indigene of Ihe who has gained admission into a university to study Nursing Science. The successful applicant will receive a cash award of Two Hundred Thousand Naira (₦200,000).
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants MUST:
Be an indigene of Ihe;
Be resident in Nigeria;
Be less than 45 years old;
Hold a valid University Admission Letter for Nursing Science;
Be mentally sound;
Have no criminal record.
